Chief Minister Manik Saha Expresses Shock
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha also reacted strongly to the loss. He described Sen’s death as an irreparable blow to the state.
“I am deeply shocked. We have lost a senior leader who always upheld democratic values,” Saha wrote in a Facebook post. He further said that Sen’s guidance and experience would be greatly missed.
State Government Announces Mourning
As a mark of respect, the Tripura government declared a three-day state mourning starting Friday. Consequently, authorities ordered all government offices, schools, colleges, and educational institutions to remain closed on Friday.
In addition, the General Administration Department directed officials to fly the national flag at half-mast during the mourning period.
