Bookings Are Open

Honda Cars India has opened pre-bookings for the Elevate facelift, the first major update to its midsize SUV since launch. Dealers across the country are accepting token amounts, and the price announcement is expected within weeks.

The Elevate has been Honda’s volume driver in India — a no-nonsense, spacious SUV that won buyers over with reliability rather than flash. The facelift aims to fix the one complaint that has followed it since day one: that it looks and feels a little too plain next to flashier rivals.

What’s New on the Outside

Expect the usual facelift playbook, done the Honda way. A revised grille, tweaked LED headlamps and daytime running lights, new alloy wheel designs, and refreshed bumpers front and rear. Spy shots doing the rounds suggest the changes are evolutionary rather than radical — Honda rarely throws the baby out with the bathwater.

New colour options are likely on the cards, and higher variants could get the blacked-out treatment that has become almost mandatory in this segment.

Inside: The Big Screen Finally Arrives?

The cabin is where buyers will feel the biggest difference. The current Elevate’s 8-inch touchscreen has looked small next to rivals offering 10-inch-plus displays, and the facelift is widely expected to fix that with a larger, slicker unit offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Honda is also expected to push its ADAS suite — currently limited to the top variant — further down the range. Other likely additions include a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats and connected-car tech. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT, should continue unchanged: it is proven, efficient and cheap to run.

Price and Rivals

The current Elevate retails between roughly Rs 11.7 lakh and Rs 16.7 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift will likely command a small premium, with the range expected to start a touch higher. That still keeps it in the fight against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder — all of which have been refreshed more recently.

Honda’s ace remains its reputation: strong resale, low maintenance costs and a dealer network buyers trust. In a segment where everyone promises features, Honda sells peace of mind.

Should You Wait?

If you are cross-shopping in the Rs 12–18 lakh bracket, waiting a few weeks makes sense. The facelift addresses the Elevate’s weakest points without touching its strengths. Bookings are open now and deliveries should begin shortly after the price reveal. As always with Honda, expect demand to be steady rather than explosive — and waiting periods to stay sensible.
