The Call Letter Is Live
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has released the IBPS Clerk Admit Card 2026 for the Customer Service Associate preliminary examination. Candidates who applied for this cycle can now download their call letters from the official website, ibps.in, by logging in with their registration number and password or date of birth.
The admit card is the single most important document for exam day — no candidate will be allowed into the examination hall without a printed copy along with a valid photo ID. IBPS has advised aspirants to download it early rather than waiting for the last date, when heavy website traffic often slows everything down.
How to Download in Five Steps
Downloading the call letter takes less than two minutes if your credentials are ready. Go to ibps.in and find the CRP Clerical link on the homepage. Open the admit card download option for the preliminary exam. Enter your registration number or roll number along with your password or date of birth, plus the captcha code shown on screen. Your admit card will appear — download it, print at least two copies, and check every detail: your name, photograph, exam date, reporting time, venue address and the instructions printed at the bottom.
If your photograph or signature appears blurred on the printout, carry a valid photo ID as backup and flag the discrepancy to the helpdesk.
Exam Pattern: What You’re Walking Into
The preliminary exam is a 60-minute, 100-mark sprint: 30 questions of English Language, 35 of Numerical Ability and 35 of Reasoning Ability. There is negative marking — a quarter mark gone for every wrong answer — so blind guessing is a losing strategy.
Those who clear the prelims move to the mains: 190 questions, 200 marks, 160 minutes, covering General and Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. Final selection rests on mains scores alone — but you have to survive the prelims first.
Exam-Day Checklist
Reach the venue well before the reporting time mentioned on your call letter — late entry is not permitted under any circumstances. Carry the printed admit card, an original photo ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport or driving licence, plus a photocopy of the ID. A ballpoint pen is usually allowed. Everything else — phones, smartwatches, calculators, study material — stays outside. Read the instructions on the admit card twice. They are not suggestions.
What Comes After the Prelims
IBPS will declare the preliminary result on its website, and qualified candidates will then download a separate admit card for the mains. Keep your registration credentials safe — you will need them at every stage. With lakhs of aspirants competing for a few thousand clerk posts in public sector banks, the margin for error is thin.
