Dense Fog Triggers Fatal Accidents on Delhi–Mumbai Expressway
Delhi-Mumbai Expressway fog accidents once again highlighted the dangers of overspeeding during low visibility conditions, as dense fog caused two fatal crashes in Haryana on Monday morning. Separate accidents in Nuh and Faridabad resulted in the deaths of two people and left several others seriously injured, disrupting traffic on the busy expressway.
Multiple Vehicle Collision in Nuh District
The first accident occurred near Nariyala Pathakpur village in Nuh district. Due to heavy fog, drivers were unable to see the road ahead, leading to several collisions. Two vehicles were completely damaged in the crash, while many passengers sustained serious injuries.
Emergency services were alerted immediately, and rescue operations began soon after. Injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
NHAI Clears the Expressway
Following the accident, a team from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) reached the spot to manage the situation. Damaged vehicles were removed from the road, and traffic flow was gradually restored. Officials stated that overspeeding on the expressway often leads to serious accidents, especially during foggy weather conditions.
Speeding Car Rams into Container in Faridabad
The second fatal accident took place in Faridabad on the same expressway. A Ford Endeavour travelling at high speed crashed into a container parked on the roadside. Dense fog prevented the driver from noticing the stationary container in time, resulting in a severe rear-end collision.

Victims Identified by Police
The driver of the Ford Endeavour was identified as Sandeep, a resident of Jaipur. He died on the spot along with another passenger whose identity has not yet been established. Police reached the location soon after the incident and sent both bodies to the civil hospital for postmortem examination.
Authorities Issue Safety Advisory
Both accidents led to temporary traffic disruptions on the expressway. Police and highway officials have urged motorists to follow speed limits and drive cautiously during foggy conditions. Authorities emphasized that winter fog significantly reduces visibility, making high-speed driving extremely dangerous.
